OKLAHOMA CITY—Oklahoma Baptist disaster relief volunteers, who for weeks have been assisting in Colorado and New Mexico, are helping in the wake of Oklahoma Wildfires.
“We have assessors and chaplains on the ground talking to home owners about what we can do to help, as well as pray with them,” said Sam Porter, disaster relief director for the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma (BGCO). “Oklahoma has seen many homes devastated and we plan to help.”
BGCO disaster relief volunteers will assist with ash clean up and utilizing BGCO feeding units for victims and volunteers.
“Our volunteers are highly trained and are motivated to make a difference because of their faith in the Lord,” he added. “Oklahoma Baptists will continue to help in Colorado while we actively work and minister here. We believe to whom much is given, much is required.”
